A SOUTHAMPTON man is to go on trial for attempted murder more than four years after a shooting drama outside a city hotel.
Jacob Smith faced an allegation of attempted murder following extradition proceedings which brought him back from Antigua.
The 24-year-old faced six charges at Southampton Crown Court.
It is alleged that he attempted to murder Daniel Hawkins and inflicted grievous bodily harm on him with intent.
He is further accused of possessing an adapted weapon, possessing blank ammunition, possessing a shotgun loaded with blank ammunition and possessing a firearm without a certificate.
Smith, of Derby Road, Southampton, denies all charges and will go on seven-day trial on November 18.
He was further remanded in custody until his trial.
