POST Office bosses are promising to deliver a major revamp of their St John's Centre, Hedge End, branch.
The post office in St John’s Centre, Hedge End is being modernised with a new open plan set up, two open plan counters and two screened serving positions.
Plans also include extending the facility’s opening hours.
The Hedge End Post Office will close for refurbishment on September 26 at 5.30pm and the new look version will open on October 5 at 1pm.
Opening hours will be be extended by 15 hours a week by opening on Saturday afternoons and opening earlier and closing later every day. The new opening hours will be Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm and Saturday 7am until 5.30pm.
Alternative post offices will be available in Botley High Street and on Thornhill Park Road in Southampton during the closure.
Post Office regional network manager for the south, Will Russell, said: “We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Hedge End and we are confident that this new Post Office service will meet the needs of the community and secure services for the future.”
