Probe into major fire in Winchester continues
3:00pm Thursday 5th September 2013 in News
An investigation in to a major fire in Winchester is ongoing.
Two weeks after the blaze caused the partial collapse of a building under construction on Hatherley Road, Fulflood, Hampshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that it is still looking into the cause.
Forty firefighters tackled the flames as they tore through a soon to be completed two-storey housing complex on August 22.
The front of the building buckled and ten neighbouring families were evacuated.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said it had been working with fire authorities to establish whether or not the cause was suspicious, but declined to comment further.
