Decathlete's bike stolen as he visits dying mother
A member of the Great Britain Decathlete Team has been targeted by thieves while visiting his dying mother.
The victim has not been named by police but is a 51-year-old Bursledon man who was visiting his terminally-ill mother.
PC Simon Wickson described it as a “particularly cruel” crime and added: “The theft was in broad daylight outside the front of the hospital.
“The bike is one of a kind and could not be sold on easily.”
The cycle has a white saddle and handlebars with what are described as “deep and very thick” carbon fibre rims and Michelin pro-tyres.
It is mainly red, black and white with the word Valdemiro written on the forks and frame in two places.
