LOCAL sailors with a range of disabilities will hit the water at Southampton Water Activities Centre tomorrow for the very first RYA Sailability Southern Regatta.
The event which coincides with National Paralympic Day, will welcome competitors from Sailability centres across the South who will race in a variety of classes to be crowned winners of the brand new RYA Sailability Southern Club Trophy.
Local disabled people of all ages and abilities are also invited to come and have a go at sailing with free dinghy taster sessions running throughout the regatta. Disabled sailing organisation the RoRo Project will also be offering ‘have a go’ sessions in their catamaran and Geoff Holt will be on hand to provide taster sessions in the fully accessible powerboat ‘WetWheels’.
