A PAINTING of Amy Winehouse is up for auction ahead of a tribute night in the star’s memory at a Hampshire venue.

The artwork is being sold off by James Wilkinson, the official V Festival artist, as part of a fundraiser for the Amy Winehouse Foundation to be held at The Concorde Club in Eastleigh.

As previously reported in the Daily Echo, the club is staging a night of music and entertainment on what would have been the celebrated singer’s 30th birthday.

Guests at the event, to be held on September 13, will include the parents of Amy, who was found dead at her London home on July 23 aged just 27.

They have agreed to sign the painting before it is handed over to the highest bidder before half of the takings from the sale are handed to the foundation, which works to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people.

Musical tributes on the night will be lead by Laura Butler, who has received much acclaim for her portrayal of Amy Winehouse and, having toured Europe, is now the official tribute act for the star.

The event will also include Rhianna and Pink tribute acts along with a prize raffle.

To make a bid for the painting or to buy tickets for the night, call the club on 023 8061 3989.
