HAMPSHIRE school is the setting for a new fictional soap.

The soap, called Darton High, has been filmed and is ongoing at Redbridge Community School, in Southampton, and is set to be shown on a new local television station.

It features performers aged 12 and upwards attending the Youngstar TV and Film School based at Wildern School.

Now the team behind the project are to create another pilot drama for local television this time focused on younger children, giving the opportunity for Youngstar students aged six to 12 to also be on local television.

This will be called Performing H’arts, which is a comedy about an old fashioned stage school struggling in the recession filmed locally in and around a village hall.

Youngstar are currently holding auditions for anyone who wants to be a character in either drama in the form of a free TV workshop – for Darton High this is at Redbridge School on September 16 and for Performing H’arts at Hilldene community centre in West End on September 18.
