A PAINTING of singer Amy Winehouse fetched more than £500 at auction during a Hampshire event held in the singer’s memory.
As revealed by the Daily Echo, a sell-out crowd packed into The Concorde Club in Stoneham Lane, Eastleigh, to celebrate the life of the Back to Black singer and watch one of the finest tribute acts to her on the circuit.
Amy, who would have turned 30 over the weekend, died on July 23, 2011 after a battle against drink and drugs.
Her parents Mitch and Janis Winehouse attended the event on Friday night to auction a portrait of Amy, with all proceeds going towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
The large oil painting by artist James Wilkinson fetched £500 while the event itself raised £4,000.
