A SECTION of one of Hampshire’s busiest motorways will be closed overnight this weekend.
Engineers will carry out the work at junction 4 of the M27 eastbound near Chilworth and the slip roads of junction 14 of the M3 on Saturday between 10pm and 6am.
The main carriageway of the M27 will be closed with a signed diversion route via junction 12 of the M3 in place.
Next week there will be overnight closures on September 27 and 30 and October 1 on the M27 westbound to M3 northbound slip road.
A further overnight closure will take place on the M27 eastbound to M3 northbound slip road between October 29 and November 2. A signed diversion route via junction 5 of the M27 will be in place.
Guy Watts, Highways Agency project sponsor, said: “This work will maintain the safety of the road and road users will notice an improved road surface.
“We will also be recycling the damaged material that will be removed from the road surface.
“We have worked to minimise disruption for road users by working overnight, when traffic flows are at their lowest, and there will be clearly signed diversion routes in place for road users.”
