A FERRY firm that links Hampshire with the Isle of Wight has announced a new chief executive.
Kevin George will start his new role at Red Funnel on January 2 next year.
He joins Red Funnel from Monarch Airlines, where he was the managing director, having previously held senior roles in operations and customer services.
Prior to joining Monarch, Kevin held a range of senior management positions in British Airways, and was instrumental in many key product and service developments, including the customer experience at Heathrow Terminal 5.
A keen sailor, Kevin is a qualified yachtmaster and is very familiar with both the Solent and the Isle of Wight.
He said: “I am delighted to be joining Red Funnel in the position of CEO at such an exciting time for the company and I look forward to the challenges of improving the guest experience to even higher levels to ensure Red Funnel remains the first choice for cross-Solent ferry travel and holidays.”
Paul Winter, who has been acting CEO since the departure of James Fulford, who left to join Condor Ferries at the end of 2012, will return to his role of group financial director in January.
