Students celebrate 100 years at Brockenhust College
7:45am Thursday 19th September 2013 in News
THIS remarkable photograph features just some of the thousands of pupils who have studied at a Hampshire college since it opened 100 years ago.
Current students of Brockenhurst College marked its centenary by forming a giant ‘100’ for a mass photograph, taking advantage of 1913 prices in the college’s cafe and taking part in projects to celebrate the college’s heritage.
Former teachers and pupils also gathered to look back on its history since it first opened its doors as The Pupil Teacher Centre in 1913, through its time as Brockenhurst County School, then a grammar school, before becoming the college it is known as today.
Centenary events will be held throughout the next 12 months.
The college has also launched an ambitious fundraising campaign to raise £100,000 to build a student centre.
