Benefit night for Oxfam shop
1:40pm Monday 23rd September 2013 in News
IT was a concert that screamed “crime does not pay”.
Some of the city’s talented musicians, performers and artists got together for a benefit night in aid of Oxfam Music Southampton.
The event was held at The Joiners in St Mary Street to raise funds for the East Street store nearly a month after it was ransacked by thieves.
It featured performances from Jing, Siberian Noise, The Real Raj, and the Southampton Ukulele Band.
Poet Issa Loyaan Farrah gave a performance, while photography and art from Emma Townley went on show.
Gig-goers were asked to make a donation of either a CD, record, DVD or computer game along with an admission fee on the night.
