Awards to recognise best in Hampshire's countryside

AWARDS that aim to recognise the best in the Hampshire countryside will be held tomorrow.
The Council for the Protection of Rural England Hampshire branch is staging the evening.
There are three categories and winners will be presented with plaques by the Lord Lieutenant, Dame Mary Fagan at Itchen Abbas Village Hall.
The annual awards are run by CPRE Hampshire with Hamp-shire Fare and Hampshire Ambassadors.
In the rural enterprise category the shortlist is Upham Brew-ery Expansion Project, and Chestnut Horse Village Store, Easton.
In the Community and Voluntary award category are: Lee-on-the-Solent Litteraction; Jodrell Close wildlife garden at Horndean; the Gypsy’s Wildlife Pond at the Hawk Conservancy Trust, near Andover; and Steep Parish Plan, East Hampshire, which captured the community’s views and converted them into practical actions.
In the youth category: Herne Junior School, Petersfield and Andover Trees United.
