Readers get chance to sit down and talk to newspaper boss on Big Red Sofa tour
4:14pm Friday 27th September 2013 in News
WERE they sitting comfortably?
It certainly looked that way when members of the public joined Daily Echo editor-in-chief Ian Murray on the paper’s Big Red Sofa at The Marlands shopping mall yesterday.
Ian was on the sofa to meet with readers to hear about what they liked about the paper and what they would like to see more of.
From the love of the paper’s heritage sections, to comments regarding sport, features and, naturally, the news coverage, readers took the opportunity to make their points to Ian, who welcomed anyone who dropped by to join him on the Echo sofa.
“It was great fun and we had some great chats about everything from the success of Saints to community policing in the city,” commented Ian.
“I didn’t need reminding that our readers are really engaged with both the place where they live and work and also their local paper, but it was lovely to have those thoughts underscored.
I’m really looking forward to doing it all again next week.”
Look out for details in the paper and on the website.
Ian’s visit to the Marlands was courtesy of the centre and was in association with St Mary’s College.
