Brother of Victoria Cross holder Johnson Beharry begins own Army career
THE brother of soldier awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery in Iraq was among 48 proud young men and women who have begun their military careers in Hampshire.
Among those passing out at the Sir John Moore Barracks in Winchester, was Jade Beharry, the brother of Victorian Cross recipient, Lance Corporal Johnson Beharry.
In 2005, the then Sgt Beharry (above), a member of the Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment, was awarded the highest possible military decoration for valour after saving his comrades from ambushes while serving in Iraq.
His brother Jade will not follow him into the infantry though, as he will now start life as a soldier in the Royal Logistic Corps.
Sgt Beharry was not at his brother’s passing out parade.
