Police investigate serious sex assault in Hoglands Park, Southampton, just hours after rape claim in Watts Park
A YOUNG woman was the victim of a serious sexual assault in a Southampton park - just hours after police investigated a rape claim in another city park.
Officers are carrying out investigations into a report of a serious sexual assault on a 23-year-old woman in Hoglands Park in the early hours of today.
Police have cordoned off an area of the park to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances of what happened.
The victim is being interviewed by specially trained officers and police want to hear from anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in Hoglands Park between midnight and 6am.
Originally police had reported that the attack had taken place in Watts Park where officers had cordoned off an area yesterday lunchtime following an allegation that a 54-year-old woman had been sexually assaulted.
Ring Southampton CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 with any information.
