CCTV clues to 90-second smash and cigarette grab at Testwood Stores
WITH hoods up and scarves masking their faces, this is the dramatic moment a gang smash their way into a shop before clearing its shelves of hundreds of pounds worth of cigarettes.
From beginning to end the lightning raid took just over one minute and 30 seconds.
Today police released CCTV images in the hope members of the public may be able to help them identify the thieves despite the gang’s attempt at disguise.
He was then joined by three other accomplices.
The CCTV shows them breaking open the front door before they make a beeline for the cigarette counter.
One of them clears the shelves while another produces what appears to be a duvet cover, which is then used to bag the cigarettes.
A witness then reported seeing the biker revving in the middle of Testwood Road.
When one of the burglars fled from the shop he was seen jumping on the back of the bike which drove away in the direction of Millbrook Road West.
The other two fled on foot in the same direction.
Shop owner Roy Kharbanda said it was the first ever raid on his shop, which he has operated single-handedly, day in day out, for the past 31 years.
He said: “It was so brazen. If it was someone I knew who did it, it would be more painful.
“But I know everyone round here and they are all angry themselves.”
