Hampshire twins grow monster pumpkin - VIDEO

THEY’VE done it again!
Hampshire’s pumpkin-growing twins Ian and Stuart Paton have grown another monster.
The 52-year-olds, from Lymington, have dedicated 750 hours to nurturing it since it was planted in April and they are expecting it to weigh in at a whopping 1,400lb.
At the show they will find out if their super squash has allowed them to keep hold of their title of British pumpkin-growing champions, but this year other growers are hot on their trail, and Dorset farmer Mark Baggs could give the pair a run for their money with his pumpkin that is a similar size.
Stuart, a grandfather-of-two, said: “My grandchildren always come running up here to have a look.
“They do seem to capture everyone’s imagination and there are more people doing it as well.”
Although this giant fruit is the weight of a car, it’s not big enough for the brothers, who still hope to break the world record, which currently stands at 2,009lb.
