Vodafone volunteers tidy grounds at Ashford Hill school
VOLUNTEERS made a big difference by helping to tidy up a school’s grounds.
Staff from Vodafone spent the day at Ashford Hill Primary School, in Ashford Hill Road, where they were joined by parents and school governors.
They worked on several projects at the school as part of the company’s Team Challenge, including clearing an environmental area, tidying the sensory garden and installing new oak benches for the children to use at break times.
Headteacher Helen Borley said: “The team has worked really very hard all day and we are very grateful for their efforts. As a small school, we are always really appreciative of offers of help however small, and the team have achieved a great deal within the course of the day.
“We have had lots of donations for this day, including a free skip from Aldermaston Skips.
“There was also free compost from Lakeside Garden Centre, free cement mix from Merkko Builders merchants and wood preservative from King’s DIY.
“Also, our fabulous oak benches have been donated by the Vodafone foundation.”
