SCHOOLS, pubs, companies and community groups across Andover took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Coffees, teas, cakes and more were sold, eaten and drank all over the country to help raise money for the charity on Friday, 27 September.
Farleigh School was able to raise more than £4,000 in 2012 and successfully broke its record this year.
Dina Jankovich-Besan, who organised the coffee morning at Farleigh School, said: “We had a very successful day and we have raised well over £5,000 which is wonderful.”
The Southampton Arms also held a coffee morning.
Landlord Phil Cockroft said: “I’d like to say thanks to everyone who came and we managed to raise £300.”
Mums In The Know Andover held their own coffee morning in the Guildhall and were joined by child favourites Elmo and Hello Kitty.
At the White Hart Hotel, as well as coffee and biscuits, a fun mini photo session was run by local photographer Phil Evans, and Harrow Way School raised £350. Other coffee mornings were held by Rank Hovis, the 5th Wiltshire BP Scout Group and at Augusta Park Community Centre.
