THEY are known more for their camping skills but these Scouts have proved that when it comes to singing, they can hit all the right notes.
A team of six Scouts in Southampton have sung their way to the top of The Bright Sparks Project – a national competition calling for Scouts across the country to showcase their talents, whether it be singing, dancing or playing instruments.
They uploaded a video of themselves singing Simon and Garfunkel’s classic, Bridge Over Troubled Water, which was watched more than 1,200 times and gained them a slot in the top ten most viewed and a place on a special Christmas album.
This month has seen their version of the Dean Martin classic Let It Snow recorded, with help from producer Jenna Donnelly, who has worked with 5ive and Atomic Kitten, for the album which will raise money for Scout groups.
The aim of the album is also to raise awareness of the 37,000 young people across the UK wanting to start scouting who can’t because there are too few groups and leaders. Money raised from the album will be used to start up new groups.
