University named honorary partner for ODI

SOUTHAMPTON University has been announced as an honorary partner of the Open Data Institute (ODI) .
It comes ten months on from the ODI’s launch in December 2012 which was done with the help of the university, which provided expertise and practical advice.
The ODI was created to help world class experts work together to use government data, and was founded by world Wide Web Inventor Sir Tim Berners-Lee and Professor Nigel Shadbolt.
The university’s vice-chancellor Prof Don Nutbeam, said: “We are a university that has a world class reputation for computer and data science and we look forward to working with the ODI to make data more readily available and accessible.”
