Work on replacing pipes in Braishfield continuing
2:20pm Monday 7th October 2013 in News
WORK on replacing Braishfield’s aging water mains should enter its final phase next month.
Southern Water chiefs say work is “progressing well” on the project which involves replacing eight kilometres of cast-iron pipes with plastic ones.
Work started in April and when completed should result in fewer leaks says Southern Water.
Contractors are currently working in the Eldon Road, Paynes Hay Road and Kings Somborne Road areas of the village and when finished crews in these locations will move on to laying pipes in Kiln Lane early next week.
The final stage of the work at Newport Lane is due to start next month.
