Lyndhurst's Royal British Legion branch is back in action
3:40pm Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
DETERMINED to support those sacrificing their lives on the frontline, one Hampshire branch of the Royal British Legion has been resurrected.
The newly reformed Lyndhurst branch celebrated its return with the raising of the flag standard at St Michael and All Angels Church this weekend.
It is unheard of for a branch which closed in 2000 to be reformed, but that is exactly what has happened.
It is thanks to the dedication of Adrian Wiltshire who wanted to make sure that those making the ultimate sacrifice in war zones across the world are honoured properly at home.
The branch currently has 44 members and is already busy fundraising for this year’s Poppy Appeal.
They will be hosting a dinner and dance at Lyndhurst Community Centre, on October 18.
Tickets are available from Lyndhurst Working Men’s Club.
