NINETEEN new apprentices, pictured, have been welcomed by Winchester City Council, providing more young people with the chance to start their careers.
Over the past two years the council has taken on 13 apprentices, helping the council to boost its staff resources in spite of a budget squeeze. More than half the 13 have secured permanent posts at the council.
The new apprentices will work in a variety of teams, including business support, communications, housing and human resources.
They will complete work-based training giving them valuable experience and a nationallyrecognised qualification.
Winchester has worked with several training providers including Sparsholt, Eastleigh and Highbury colleges, Locomotivation and QA.
