Work to make junctions safer
6:00am Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
CIVIC chiefs hope to reduce the number of accidents at four sites in Southampton.
The city council’s Cabinet has approved spending a £332,000 Government grant on a road safety project that will see work carried out at a number of different sites over the next four months.
The junction of Cumberland Place, Bedford Place and Brunswick Place will have improvements carried out from November 4 to 29.
The junction, which has seen 17 accidents in recent years, will have a left turn lane removed, while there will be increased time for pedestrians crossing the road and signal improvements.
