Totton teenager arrested after break-in at pensioner's home
A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of burglary after a Hampshire pensioner's home was raided for her jewellery.
Police swooped to arrest the 16-year-old boy, from Totton, following the incident in the Anna Valley area of Andover on October 6.
The victim, a 77-year-old woman, was left shaken after the offender gained access to her home through insecure windows.
They fled with a distinctive gold necklace with aquamarine stones and pearls, a square set emerald gold ring, and a gold locket.
Officers say the victim remembers seeing a man walking away from her home at around 3pm.
He is described as white, of slim build, aged between 20 and 25 and had ginger hair. He was wearing a grey top.
PC Ben Lee said: “This is believed to have happened while the victim was in, which has left her very shaken and scared.
“Have you seen anyone who matches this description? Have you been offered any jewellery for sale?”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Lee at Andover Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
