Investigation underway after fire destroys unit in Hampshire village

AN investigation is underway today after fire destroyed an industrial unit in a Hampshire village.
More than 40 fire fighters from eight different stations were called to the scene on Allington Lane in Fair Oak.
An acetylene cylinder exploded in the early stages of the fire.
The 999 call was received at around 4.30pm yesterday and crews spent three hours on the scene using three jets and eight sets of breathing apparatus.
Heat damage was also caused to the adjoining units.
The cause is under investigation.
Around 42 firefighters from eight fire stations and five officers attended a fire in a single storey industrial building this evening. A total of three jets and eight breathing apparatus were used to tackle the fire. The unit was 100% damaged by fire, with slight smoke and heat damage to adjoining units. An acetylene cylinder exploded in the early stages of the incident. The 999 call was received at 16:26 and the stop message at 19:35. The cause is currently under investigation.
