HAMPSHIRE actress and TV star Amanda Holden has revealed how she was once confronted by Jimmy Savile in a hospital cubicle.
Amanda was 19 when she accidentally sliced through the top of her finger and was taken to Leeds General Infirmary, where her wound was stitched up.
Writing in her autobiography she says: “All of a sudden the curtain to my cubicle drew back and Jimmy Savile was standing in front of me.
“At that point he was still regarded as a legendary fundraiser and philanthropist. He looked at my bandaged hand and made a lame joke about me attempting suicide.”
In her book, Amanda Holden – No Holding Back, the actress also says her biological father, Frank Holden, played virtually no part in her life.
She says: “Frank was a drinker and craved what he thought was the high life. He loved his booze more than he loved us, and abandoned his children pure and simple.”
