NEARLY 2,000 bags of unwanted clothing have been donated to win the fight against heart disease.
As part of the British Heart Foundation’s Great British Bagathon, an impressive 197,459 bags of unwanted items were handed over in the south-east, which could be worth nearly £4m to the charity – enough to fund 65 research projects for a whole year.
Angie Vidler, regional manager for BHF shops, said: “Thanks to the tremendous contribution we have been able to hit our national target, raising an overwhelming one million bags nationwide.”
