Olympian Rob cuts ribbon for winning school
AN Olympic medallist was on hand to open a new school building for vulnerable pupils.
The grand opening came after the school won the prestigious Times Educational Supplement Building Competition for the building.
The facility boasts a red cedarwood classroom and will provide a learning space for vulnerable pupils.
Previously pupils were taught at an empty shop in the nearby Wallace estate – which is now earmarked for demolition – and it was thanks to the school’s plea for a replacement building that helped win the classroom.
Head teacher Ewan Scott said: “It is brilliant news for Chamberlayne to win this competition, it will make such a difference to some of the most vulnerable young people that we serve.”
