Woman sexually assaulted while walking home in Townhill Park area of Southampton
DETECTIVES are hunting a sex attacker who targeted a woman as she walked home from a Hampshire pub.
The predator struck as the 35-year-old victim headed home after spending the evening at the Big Cheese Pub in Bitterne, bundling her into bushes.
Officers are now eager to speak to three men who left the pub with her, in the hope that they may hold some vital clues to who the attacker is.
The assault happened as the woman walked along Townhill Way and then Meggeson Avenue in Townhill Park.
At sometime between 12.30am and 1.30am, the sex fiend struck, assaulting her in some bushes.
He is described as being more than 5ft 6ins tall, with blond hair that was slicked back into a quiff style. He was wearing a navy coat and had very bright blue eyes.
Detectives are now trying to trace the three men who left the pub with her, but parted ways with her during the journey.
They are not believed to have been involved and police are not treating them as suspects, but they may hold key information about what happened that night.
One of the men is thought to be called Phil and another is known as ‘Twigs’.
It comes less than a month after a woman was raped in Southampton’s Hoglands Park, in the early hours of the morning, after last being seen outside The Edge nightclub in St Mary’s.
Anyone with information about the recent assault, which happened in the early hours of Saturday morning, is asked to call Detective Constable Tom Hewitt in the Western Area CID Team at Southampton Central police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
