Man slashed in attack in Fareham
A MAN was treated in hospital for slash wounds from an assault.
The 25-year-old had stitches after he suffered eight wounds to his chest and abdomen when he was assaulted in Fareham by a man he had been arguing with beforehand.
These wounds are consistent with a blade, but police are yet to establish what weapon was used.
They want to identify a group of youths who are potential witnesses that were stood close to where the assault happened at the entrance to a wooded area between Gifford Close and Frosthole Crescent.
The attacker is described as white, in his late 20s, 6ft tall, of slim build, with short dark hair and wearing a three quarter length beige or sandy coloured Burberry trench coat.
Anyone who may be able to help identify the group or has any information relating to the assault, which happened between 9pm and 9.30pm on Saturday, October 12, can call DC Robert Lowe at Fareham CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
