Southampton General Hospital heart charity campaigner Sam Prior meets opera star Andreas Bocelli on televison show

Hampshire hospital campaigner Sam Prior found herself being given her own special thank you in front of millions of television viewers tonight.
Mum of two Sam Prior appeared on ITV’s Surprise Surprise last night and ended up coming face to face with her musical idol.
The 42-year-old could not believe it when presenter Holly Willoughby revealed Sam would be serenaded by opera star Andreas Bocelli.
The surprise had been organised by Sam’s husband Paul, pictured below, as a thank you for all the work she has done for both her family and a heart charity at Southampton General Hospital.
She is chairwoman of the Families of Ocean Ward charity that supports families both financially and emotionally who have a child suffering from heart defects at the hospital.
Admin assistant Sam, from Locks Heath, works for the charity to give something back to the ward that helped save her son Aaron, 11 who has a serious heart condition, as well as the opportunity to meet with other families going through similar experiences.
She has also been at the forefront of the Daily Echo’s Have A Heart campaign which has battled to keep children’s heart surgery in Southampton which has been under threat due to a wide ranging an controversial national review of the service.
