LIVE BLOG: Trees felled as storm hits Basingstoke

South West Trains maintenance teams and engineers have cleared dozens of fallen trees and other debris from the tracks today. Services are expected to be "significantly reduced" until the end of the day. Customers are advised to check the latest travel information and allow extra time for journeys.
Most South West Trains routes are now open.
Members of the public and users of the Basingstoke Canal are being advised not to use the towpath or navigation today if they can avoid it.
The towpath is blocked in many locations and that there are numerous over hanging broken branches.
Rangers are working hard to clear the many fallen trees and debris along the canal but have asked people to be patient as this is a big job and may take some time.
Councillor Seán Woodward, executive member for economy, transport and environment at Hampshire County Council, said: "I have only the highest praise for all County Council staff and staff from Amey our contractors who have been out in terrible conditions to keep Hampshire moving during, and after, one of the worst storms we have seen in a decade. It is a timely reminder to the public how crucial local government services are."
Hampshire County Council's arboriculture teams have been dealing with fallen trees on a priority basis and staff have also been dealing with local flooding issues and emptying gullies across the county.
Around the County over 100 roads were partially or fully closed during the bad weather.
A fallen tree blocks the footpath through Basingstoke's Glebe Gardens, near to St Michael's Church.
Tree surgeons from I D Knight are clearing the tree in Cliddesden Road.
Dipley Close, in South Ham, has been affected by debris on the road. A team from the council has been sent to clear the road.
A team from Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council is clearing Worting Road (B3400), near to pitch and putt golf centre.

Disruption on CrossCountry between Birmingham New Street and Bournemouth due to fallen tree on the line between Winchester and Basingstoke. There is no service South of Reading. An hourly service is running between Birmingham New Street and Reading.
These engineers were called to Rooksdown after power cables were felled in the stormy weather.
The tree that fell in Buckskin Lane, Buckskin, has now been cleared from the road.
Adam Samuels heard a tree fall down in Cliddesden Road at 4am. He said: "I heard the wind then few branches of the trees just a bit like hale stones on window then 10 minutes later huge thump against the house, which now I know was not a branch but a whole tree."
Delays possible on First Great Western between Basingstoke and Reading due to obstruction on the line. Services have resumed, but may be delayed or cancelled.
