A CHARITY auction has raised nearly £33,000 for disadvantaged children across the south.
The Wave 105 Cash for Kids Auction saw listeners calling in to place bids for ‘money can’t buy’ prizes generously donated by businesses across Hampshire and Dorset Attracting the highest bid of £1,300 was a tug boat experience donated by Svitzer, while breakfast with Wave 105 presenter Steve Power sparked a bidding war, finally going for more than £1,000.
Wave 105 Cash for Kids charity manager, Gloria Hill, said: “We are thrilled to have beaten last year’s total by more than £7,000, We really can’t thank our listeners enough for their generosity which will go a long way to help disadvantaged children across the south.”
The money raised from the auction will be shared between a number of charities in the south that support children under the age of 18, who are financially, socially, emotionally or physically disadvantaged.
