St. Anne's Road in Woolston to be partially closed for water mains work
10:20am Friday 1st November 2013 in News
DIVERSIONS are in place and a road lane is closed in a city neighbourhood as water mains are being replaced.
One lane of St Anne’s Road in Woolston is open for one-way traffic only, so vehicles heading south from the junction with the A3025 Portsmouth Road will be able to continue along as normal.
Meanwhile, traffic heading north from Swift Road and Obelisk Road will need to follow a short diversion around Archery Grove.
Southern Water said it expected work to be completed by the end of December in St Anne’s Road and by the end of February in Station Road.
Project manager Peter Simmons said: “This project will help to ensure the water network is able to cope with future demands, so we can continue to serve the local community effectively into the future.
“I’d like to thank residents for their patience shown so far.”
