91-year-old driver cut free from car on A33
FIREFIGHTERS cut free a 91-year-old woman from her car after it came off the road and ended up in a ditch.
The crew, from Basingstoke fire station, was called to the A33 Reading Road, near the Duke of Wellington Monument, at 9.45am on October 31.
Crew manager John Clarke said the woman’s vehicle had pulled out of the junction and was hit side on by another car travelling along the main road.
The male driver of the other vehicle suffered bruising from his seatbelt.
The 91-year-old woman suffered facial injuries but was not thought to have been seriously injured.
She was cut free from her car and carried out on a stretcher, before being taken to hospital.
Mr Clarke said: “We took the complete side of the car off.”
