Man found lying on the ground with knife wound on Burgess Road

A MAJOR road was taped off in Southampton this afternoon after a man was stabbed.
Burgess Road, near to the McDonald's restaurant, was closed to traffic while police and ambulance crews worked at the scene.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a man lying on the ground close to the fast food outlet’s car park at about 2.10pm today.
They said medics rushed to the scene shortly afterwards.
Police descended on the scene and cordoned off the area.
Inspector Mark Foster of Hampshire Constabulary, said this afternoon: "A 35-year-old man has been stabbed in the abdomen with a knife. A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder."
He added that the injury was not thought to be serious and nobody else was hurt in the drama.
An appeal has been launched for witnesses and detectives are this afternoon conducting house to house enquiries.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital.
This afternoon a police spokesman added: "Shortly after 2pm today (Saturday, November 2) a 35-year-old man sustained stab wounds to his abdomen during an incident outside a house in Burgess Road.
"He was taken to Southampton General Hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
"A 45-year-old man from Southampton has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently in police custody.
"Were you in the area at the time? Did you see anything?"
