£6,000 raised through collections for the charity
THE Basingstoke branch of the Royal Air Forces Association raised more than £6,000 through collections for the Battle of Britain Wings Appeal.
The money will be used to meet the ever-increasing cost of looking after the welfare needs of serving and ex-serving members of the RAF and their dependents.
Pip Iles, branch chairman, said: “This magnificent sum was made possible by those who gave up their time to stand with a collecting tin and the public who so generously donated. I am most grateful to them all.”
