Roads across Hampshire are today still art the centre of a flooding alert.

Torrential rain and exceptionally high tides left parts of Hampshire under several inches of water yesterday.

Daily Echo:

Some of the worst flooding occurred near the Beaulieu River, which burst its banks near Palace House and the National Motor Museum.

No buildings were affected but part of Palace Lane, Beaulieu, was submerged for several hours yesterday.

Today Lymington Police also warned of flooding on the B3055 which they say is under two foot of water and impassible outside The Pig hotel.

Daily Echo:

Less severe flooding occurred on part on the nearby B3056 Beaulieu to Lyndhurst road.

Hampshire County Council and the Environment Agency will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days.

A county council spokesman said: “Minor flooding in Beaulieu, parts of Eling and Shore Road in Hythe was the result of high tide and heavy rainfall.

“This cleared quickly and the Environment Agency has now lifted the flood warnings that were in place.”
