A CAR has crashed into a house.
The black Hyundai Getz with L-plates hit the front of a semi-detached home in Station Road, Netley, at around 1.30pm today.
Part of the front wall has been completely destroyed leaving a large hole.
Fortunately nobody was inside the house at the time and no-one was injured.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area.
One neighbour told how they had heard a loud thump and came around the corner to see the car in the house.
Both the female driver and male passenger in the car were uninjured and were able to get out themselves.
The pair, both in their 30s, were checked over by paramedics as a precaution.
Sgt Alex Banks of Hedge End police said they were still making inquiries but it appeared the car had come down Victoria Road turned the corner and gone into the house.
He said it was very lucky no-one was injured.
He said a surveyor had already been out to assess the damage and further assessments would be done by insurers.
The car has now been removed and taken away on a pick-up truck.
The homeowner has returned to the house but was too upset to speak to the Daily Echo.
