IT IS undoubtedly the most important meal of the year.

The one time when families across Hampshire take the time to sit down together and enjoy Christmas dinner.

And the entire festive feast could be yours for free as the Daily Echo launches this year’s Win Christmas competition.

Each day we will be giving away a festive treat as the big day draws nearer.

And what better way to start than bagging yourself a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.

Thanks to the renowned butchers Uptons Butchers, of Bassett, the whole Christmas lunch can be won.

The prize includes a 12lb turkey, 1lb award-winning chipolatas, 1lb home smoked streaky bacon and a large home-made championship pork pie.

Simon Broadribb, owner of the award-winning butchers on Winchester Road, Southampton, said: “As I always say it is the most important meal of the year.

“It is often the one time when the whole family sits down together to eat, so it is very important that it is a good meal and we pride ourselves on providing top quality local produce.

“So for the lucky winner, it will take all the hassle out of the Christmas dinner. I hope they enjoy.”
