MORE than 90 firefighters are tonight battling a major thatched roof fire in Hampshire.
Control operators were alerted to the fire at 7.10pm this evening and have mobilised fire appliances from 12 fire stations along with support crews to the home in North Weirs in the village of Brockenhurst.
The response swiftly escalated to seven pumps, the mutli-role vehicle and a water carriers for additional water supplies.
Then a further five appliances due to the serious nature of this incident which is continuing tonight.
Crews from Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst,Lymington, Beaulieu, New Milton, Fordingbridge, Ringwood, Fawley, St. Mary's, Redbridge, Burley, Totton plus further supporting crews are now attending this incident.
In total more than 90 firefighters are at the scene and four officers are in attendance.
Breathing apparatus, three main jets, three cafs jets, and two hosereels were used. All persons have been accounted for and there are no reported injuries.
