ONE of the world’s best-known tenors will perform on a number of cruises setting sail from Southampton.

Singing sensation Alfie Boe, who has two platinum-selling albums to his name, will perform on the Azura during a four-night cruise break in May.

It is one of four short cruise breaks departing from and returning to Southampton which have been announced by P&O Cruises.

Boe first shot to fame in Baz Luhrmann’s La Boheme on Broadway, which he won a Tony for.

Subsequent roles included Jean Valjean in the 25th anniversary performance of Les Miserables at London’s O2 Arena and a performance at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert at Buckingham Palace.

He will perform on the family-friendly cruise break to Belgium and Guernsey which will depart on May 26.

Prices start at £329 a person, with tickets on sale now. Prices start at £279 for a three-night cruise break to Belgium on Aurora, which leaves Southampton on October 11.

And two four-night breaks to Amsterdam and Belgium will be on board the Oriana on November 6 and December 13.
