MORE than 25 guests were evacuated from a Hampshire hotel last night when a fire broke out.
They left the Days Inn hotel at Rownhams Services on the M27 westbound between junctions three and four near Southampton at 8pm when a heater caught alight in one of the rooms.
Ten firefighters from Redbridge Hill and Eastleigh fire stations arrived to evacuate the building before using hose reels to put out the flames.
They put the cause of the blaze - which caused damage to the appliance and part of the wall - down to someone placing a towel on the appliance.
Noone was hurt and people returned to their rooms in hour, with the guest in the room affected moved elsewhere.
