SEVERAL Hampshire roads have been flooded overnight sparking appeals for motorists to take extra care in their cars this morning.
Police are warning drivers to be vigilant as they head to work this morning as last night’s rainfall left many areas in the county suffering from flooding.
Blundell Road in Bursledon has been closed after it was flooded and Hamble village, by the foreshore has also suffered from the adverse weather overnight.
Firefighters were called to Blundell Road at midnight after a taxi fell victim to the water on the road, which lapped into the car and caused it to breakdown.
There has also been flooding outside the walls of the Abbey in Beaulieu.
Other roads closed due to the rain include the A529 at Emsworth on the main road on the border with West Sussex, Lanstone High Street, on Hayling Island is now impassable and Northmead Road, on Hayling Island and South Street in Emsworth is flooded.
