THE jury in a trial of two people in connection with an armed robbery at a Chandler's Ford bank have been discharged.
Members of the jury were yesterday (THURS) discharged at Winchester Crown Court for legal reasons and a new trial will start on Monday.
Jackelyn Smith, 36, of Mitcham, Surrey, and Caston Francis, of Crystal Palace, London, both deny conspiracy to rob between May 2011 and April 2012.
The trial which started on Monday heard that the gang targeted a string of banks across southern England.
Three men in balaclavas attacked security guards outside the HSBC bank in Winchester Road, Chandler's Ford on November 24 2011 and stole £25,000 in cash.
Three men have already pleaded guilty and await sentencing. They are Leroy Hall, Leon McKenzie and Clifford Griffiths, all from London.
