THE night sky lit up above Romsey last night as hundreds of lanterns marked the start of late-night shopping.
Young and old lined the streets to see more than 350 lanterns made by the community make their way through the town for the annual festive parade last night.
It began in The Archway by the United Reformed Church before making its way to Bell Street, The Hundred, Market Place, Church Street, and ending in Romsey Abbey for carol singing.
The parade was led by Romsey Mayor Ian Richards and Test Valley Mayor Janet Whiteley.
