HAMPSHIRE’S police and crime commissioner is on the move.

Simon Hayes and his team are moving out of their former Hampshire Police Authority building in Westgate Chambers, Winchester. From Monday, the OPCC will be based in the heart of the city at St George’s Chamber’s, above Barclays Bank in St George’s Street.

The move is part of the commissioner’s estates strategy, which pledges to operate from “fit for purpose and cost effective buildings.” The PCC’s office secured a ten year lease and said the move will save around £23,000 a year in rent during the first five years of the tenancy.

skeptik says...

More waste at the top as the front line is cut - the British way, make a nonsense a perfect nonsense by adding another expensive irrelevance. 43 Police forces with 43 plus HQs and armies of senior officers - the answer? Add more - JHC you could not make it up. 8 regional forces. the Met with centralized materiel purchasing, one training and manning division. Every agency of government has to accept this is the 21st century and modernized - why are they allowed to keep 43 fiefdoms going - for the benefit of who?
